Original guide: https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=no-control

Check the presentation app, slideshow, and permissions.

## Choose the presentation app

- **Open your presentation** on the computer running PPTControl Desktop.
- In the desktop menu, select the matching app: **PowerPoint**, **Keynote** (Mac), or **Google Slides**.

## Start the slideshow and try Next

- **Start the slideshow** on the computer.
- Keep the **slideshow window in the foreground**.
- Tap **Next** in PPTControl on your phone.

### Slideshow running but not detected?

On your phone, tap **Control Anyway**, then **Use Basic Control**. Notes and slide numbers may be unavailable in this mode.

## Check permissions and test

- **Mac:** [Check control and Automation permissions](https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=mac-permissions).
- **Windows:** On a work computer, ask IT whether security software blocks keyboard or mouse control. For Wi-Fi connection issues, [check Windows network access](https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=windows-firewall).

**Still not working?** Test a simple two-slide presentation in a [supported app](https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=compatibility).

- **Keyboard also won’t change slides?** Check slideshow control in the presentation app first.
- **Only PPTControl fails?** [Send support the details](https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=contact).
