# Connect with Wi-Fi & a QR code — PPTControl

Original guide: https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=wifi

Connect your phone and computer over the same local network.

## 1. Share a network

- **Phone:** connect to Wi-Fi.
- **Computer:** join the same Wi-Fi, or use Ethernet on that network.

A guest, school, hotel, or company network may block devices from reaching each other. [Use your phone’s hotspot if needed →](https://pptcontrol.app/Help?guide=hotspot)

## 2. Show the code on the computer

- Open the **PPTControl Desktop menu**: click its icon in the Mac menu bar or near the Windows clock.
- Choose **Show Pairing QR Code**. Keep the window open.

## 3. Scan with PPTControl

- Open the **Connect** tab on your phone.
- Tap the **QR scanner in the top-right corner**.
- Allow Camera access and point the scanning frame at the code on your computer. Allow Local Network access if asked.

**Scanner not working in PPTControl?** Try your phone’s normal **Camera** app. Scan the code on your computer and **tap the link that appears**.

PPTControl may open directly. If a pairing page opens in the browser, tap **Open PPTControl**. The mobile app must be installed.

## 4. Approve and test

- **Approve your phone’s request on the computer**, if shown. On Mac, click **Yes** near the menu-bar icon. On Windows, the request appears in the center of the screen.
- Open your presentation, select the matching **Presenter App** in PPTControl Desktop, and start the slideshow.
- Tap the **right arrow** on your phone. The computer should show the next slide.

**Still connecting?** Choose another available address below the desktop QR code, preferably the Wi-Fi or Ethernet network shared with your phone. Scan the updated code.
