Allow network access on Windows

Let your phone reach PPTControl Desktop on your local network.

1. Allow the app when Windows asks

Open PPTControl Desktop. If Windows Security asks to allow network access, allow it for the network you use with your phone.

Keep the firewall on. Allow the app itself, rather than opening a permanent port or turning off protection.

Windows Security: click Allow for PPTControl Desktop when prompted.

2. If you already dismissed the prompt

Follow these steps if you closed or denied the network-access prompt. Keep the firewall on.

  1. Open Windows Security

Open Start → Settings → Privacy & security, then choose Windows Security.

You can also search Start for Windows Security and open it directly.

In Settings → Privacy & security, choose Windows Security.

  5. Allow PPTControl and save

Scroll to PPTControl Desktop. Windows may call it PPTControlDesktop.WpfApp, as shown here.

Make sure the checkbox beside the app and the checkbox for your active network profile are selected. Leave other apps unchanged, then click OK.

PPTControlDesktop.WpfApp is allowed for Public in this example. Use your active profile and click OK.

  • Private or Public? Allow the profile marked active on your computer. The example shows Public; your network may use Private. Do not mark an unfamiliar network as trusted just to connect.
  • More than one PPTControl entry? Select an entry and use Details… to check which installed app it belongs to.
  • App missing or settings managed? Ask your IT team to add or allow the installed app.

3. Reconnect

Keep the phone and computer on the same local network, reopen the pairing QR code, and scan it again.

If Windows access is allowed but pairing still fails, check guest-network isolation or try a hotspot. Bluetooth is another option if supported.
